What did Shane Bond say about being appointed as the head coach?
The coach of the Mumbai MI Emirates team for the upcoming Twenty20 League in the UAE has been announced. Former New Zealand star pacer Shane Bond has been appointed as the head coach of the team.
Apart from the head coach, the names of other coaches have also been announced. Vinay Kumar will be the bowling coach of the team. Parthiv Patel will be seen as the batting coach. James Franklin will be the fielding coach. Robin Singh will be the Cricket General Manager.
The team owner Akash Ambani welcomed these MI Emirates coaches. He said, “I welcome Shane, Robin, Parthiv, Vinay and James to their new roles at MI Emirates. As they are an integral part of MI, the coaching team is great. I am sure they will be able to make MI Emirates a team that MI will increase the passion and love of the fans.”
Shane Bond is excited to be the head coach.
“It is a privilege to be appointed the head coach of MI Emirates. Building a new team is always exciting and I look forward to taking the MI team forward and inspiring our players to take their game to new heights,” he said after taking over.
Note that Shane Bond has been working as the bowling coach of Mumbai Indians in IPL since 2015. The tournament is scheduled to start in January-February 2023. Let’s see how successful this former Kiwi star pacer becomes in his new role.
