Bairstow is thinking about standing on two legs, not the World Cup
Jonny Bairstow has seen both sides of the coin in his career. A few days ago, his appearance in the field means fountain of runs with the bat. He has gradually become one of England‘s batting pillars. Now he has to think about his health.
Returning to the field is far away, for now, Jonny Bairstow is thinking about standing properly on his feet. Due to leg injury, this wicket-keeper batsman will not be able to participate in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Bairstow injured his foot after slipping on the golf course a few months ago. Due to injury, he was also knocked out of the upcoming T20 World Cup. Observing the injury, the doctors said, not only the upcoming T20 World Cup, Bairstow will not be able to enter the field this year.
Bairstow posted a photo of his feet on social media Instagram. He wrote, “My leg was broken in three places, requiring a plate. The ankle was also dislocated.”
“On the positive side, the surgery was a success. It’s been three weeks. The next few weeks or months are very important for recovery,” he wrote of the surgery after the injury.
However, Bairstow also thanked those who stood by him in difficult times.
He wrote, “When I will return to the field, it is not possible to say at this moment. For now, I am thinking of standing properly on two legs. It is certain that I will not be able to return in 2022. Thank you all for your support during this difficult time.”
This English star was in great form this year. He was in the list of the best run scorer of the year with the bat. But this leg injury curtailed his great form.
Many have taken England as a betting horse in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Bairstow could have been the trump card. But losing him is a big blow for Buttlers. For now, the big question in the cricket world is when this run machine of England will recover.
