Bairstow is thinking about standing on two legs, not the World Cup

Bairstow posted a photo of his feet on social media Instagram. He wrote, “My leg was broken in three places, requiring a plate. The ankle was also dislocated.”

 

“On the positive side, the surgery was a success. It’s been three weeks. The next few weeks or months are very important for recovery,” he wrote of the surgery after the injury.

 

However, Bairstow also thanked those who stood by him in difficult times.

He wrote, “When I will return to the field, it is not possible to say at this moment. For now, I am thinking of standing properly on two legs. It is certain that I will not be able to return in 2022. Thank you all for your support during this difficult time.”

 

This English star was in great form this year. He was in the list of the best run scorer of the year with the bat. But this leg injury curtailed his great form.

 

Many have taken England as a betting horse in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Bairstow could have been the trump card. But losing him is a big blow for Buttlers. For now, the big question in the cricket world is when this run machine of England will recover.
