Afridi suggests Pakistan the strategy to win the semi-final
Babar Azam’s team will fight against New Zealand in the semi-final of the current T20 World Cup. Pakistan secured their semi-final ticket with a shaky win against Bangladesh in their last Super Twelve match. So former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi is worried about the semi-final. He suggested Rizwan-Haris to open in the innings to win the match.
Afridi feels Pakistan’s shaky performance could be dangerous for the semi-final. So, the former all-rounder advised that no mistakes should be made in the semi-finals. And if this advice is not followed, Pakistan’s captain has also expressed fear that there may be a big loss.
Afridi wrote on Twitter, “Babar Azam, we need to fire at the top of the batting order. So, need a power hitter. It’s clearly seen between Haris or Shadab. Please allow Haris to open the innings with Rizwan and you play at number three. You have to be tough and flexible with a balanced batting lineup to win match.”
It should be noted that Pakistan – New Zealand have met 28 times in international T20Is so far. Pakistan has won 17 times, New Zealand 11 times. On the other hand, the two teams met 6 times in T20 World Cup. Pakistan won 4 times and New Zealand 2 times. According to the statistics, Babar Azam’s team is much ahead. However, it is a matter of seeing which team will win the field fight in the end.
