Netherlands added Gary Karsten to squad ahead of the World Cup
T20 World Cup is just days away. The teams participating in the competition are already preparing to give their best on the playing field. There is New surprise in the Netherlands team for the upcoming World Cup. The Netherlands added the World Cup winning coach to the team. This has been confirmed by the Netherlands Cricket Board.
South African coach Gary Karsten will be seen on the coaching panel of the Netherlands team in this year’s T20 World Cup.
Former Australian all-rounder Dan Christian will be on the team’s coaching panel along with Karsten. The Netherlands Cricket Board said they have added Karsten and Christian to the team’s coaching panel on short-term contracts.
Karsten is excited to be in charge of the Netherlands team. He said, “I am delighted to work with the Dutch team in Cape Town and look forward to joining them as a consultant for the T20 World Cup. I was impressed by the level of skill and professionalism during the camp. They are ready and determined to make a big impact in the T20 World Cup.”
It should be noted that India won the ODI World Cup in 2011 under the coaching of Gary Karsten. He has previously served as head coach in three T20 World Cups. Served as Coach of India in 2009-2010 and South Africa in 2012.
On the other hand, Dan Christian played for Australia in the 2010, 2012 and 2014 World Cups.
