Germany in the discussion by protesting in a different way at the World Cup

This year’s World Cup is being held in the Islamic state of Qatar. Therefore, there are many restrictions in the rules in this World Cup. The authorities of Qatar have banned activities such as drugs, homosexuality during the football World Cup, known as ‘The Greatest Show on Earth’. FIFA, the highest governing body of football, is respecting the country’s restrictions.

 

However, many people have been protesting against these restrictions. Several organizations in Europe have joined the protest against the latest ban on homosexuality. Countries like England, Netherlands, France, Germany, Belgium, Denmark and Sweden have also protested.

 

Countries want their captains to wear special armbands to show support for homosexuality. Where it will be written ‘one love’. But FIFA did not allow that decision. At the same time, the authorities also warn of the punishment if the ‘armband’ is worn. Due to which the countries withdraw from the decision of wearing that particular ‘armband’.

 

However, Germany did not stop there. In their first match against Japan, the team showed support for homosexuality in a different way. Everyone put their hands on their mouths in a photo session before the match against Japan. By this they mean, taking away the freedom of speech. The German Football Federation has also informed the matter in a tweet.
